The region's leading production association in terms of production volumes. Its enterprises and subsidiaries are located in the cities of Leninsk-Kuznetsky, Polysaevo, Kiselevsk, Prokopyevsky and Leninsk-Kuznetsky municipal districts, and Belovo district.

The Kuzbass branch of "SUEK" was established in June 2003 in the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsky. Since 2007, most of the enterprises have been merged into "SUEK-Kuzbass" JSC. Today the company is represented in the region by 7 mines, 3 open-pit mines, 4 processing plants, 14 service enterprises and organizations, and a research institute:

The annual production of energy coal grades exceeds 30 million tons. The best result achieved was 38.2 million tons. Two thirds of the high quality coal mined is exported. In terms of underground mining, "SUEK-Kuzbass" consistently ranks first in Russia. Its total reserves of coal exceed 2.5 billion tons. Over 5 years (2016-2020), investments in enterprise development amounted to 130 billion rubles / $ 2.1 billion.

The company's investment priorities are: increasing the level of work safety; purchasing high-tech mining equipment; expansion and reconstruction of enrichment facilities; implementation of environmental projects.

Since 2004, the staff of the company's enterprises have established more than 20 production achievements of the Russian and world level. Two team-leaders - Vladimir Melnik and Alexander Kulichenko - became Heroes of Labor of the Russian Federation.

The most important task of the social policy of "SUEK-Kuzbass" is to comprehensively improve the quality of life of its employees, their families and residents of the mining territories. Social programs are developed and implemented in cooperation with regional and municipal administrations, public organizations, and local residents. In total, over the past 14 years, the company has allocated more than 2.4 billion rubles for the development of territories in Kuzbass. The company's work is based on public-private partnerships: "SUEK-Kuzbass" JSC is doing a lot for the implementation of social projects, including social investments, in cooperation with the Government of Kuzbass, with relevant ministries and administrations of mining territories. The main directions of social programs are: education and science; ecology; sports and healthy lifestyle; healthcare; improvement of the territories of presence; culture and realization of creative potential; charity and assistance to socially vulnerable groups of the population; development of social and entrepreneurial activity of the population; care for veterans and children, moral and patriotic education of young people.

The size of the already made and planned environmental investments proves "SUEK-Kuzbass" JSC to be one of the largest investors in the coal industry and in the entire Kuzbass industry in improving the environmental situation. Over the past five years, the company's investments in environmental activities amounted to 5 billion rubles, and more than 3 billion are envisaged for 2020-2021.
