Over the fifteen years of its development, the company has become a leader coal production in Russia and firmly holds its position on the list of the largest Russian exporters of coal products. The company produces high-quality power and coking coal mined by open-pit and underground methods. A wide assortment and high quality of coal stipulate a high demand for its products both in the domestic and foreign markets.

The company's mission is to be a reliable supplier of coal products (in terms of quality, timing and volumes), a reliable partner and a socially-oriented company based on the principles of safe work, rational environmental management, professionalism and enthusiasm of its employees. In 2019, the team of "SDS-Ugol" Holding" was recognized as the best coal company team in Kuzbass. The systematic implementation of "SDS-Ugol" Holding Company's social programs resulted in its victory in the regional competition "Kuzbass - the coal heart of Russia" in the nomination "Best Social Project of 2020". "SDS-Ugol" partners with about 200 large and medium-sized companies, 449 small and medium-sized businesses, and 57 individual entrepreneurs.

The company is annually certified according to international ISO standards (9001: 2015, 14001: 2015, 45001: 2018). Since 2017, "SDS-Ugol" has been a single shipper and official supplier of coal products to consumers of "Bettercoal", the European Association of Energy Companies.

In 2018-2020, “SDS-Ugol” Holding Company” JSC occupied one of the leading positions in World Wildlife Fund (WWF) environmental responsibility rating of mining and metallurgical companies. Since 2019, "SDS-Ugol" has been an industrial partner of the Research and Academic Centre "Kuzbass". “SDS-Ugol” Holding Company” JSC is the R&D and manufacturing partner of T.F. Gorbachev Kuzbass State Technical University in the implementation of the Integrated Scientific and Technical Program "Clean Coal-Green Kuzbass". In 2019, "SDS-Ugol" created the first private nursery of conifers with a closed root system in Kuzbass “Green Kuzbass”.

Currently, the project is being developed in cooperation with T.F. Gorbachev Kuzbass State Technical University. In 2020, a 400 m2 greenhouse complex for 120,000 seedlings was installed at the nursery. Projects for the development of licensed subsoil areas of the company's enterprises were designed by its own design institute - "Siberian Institute of Mining" LLC.
