EVRAZ ZSMK

EVRAZ ZSMK is a general supplier of rail products for "Russian Railways" JSC. It was the first in Russia and the third in the world to launch the production of 100-meter differentiated heat-strengthened rails. It is a large manufacturer of construction steel, whose share in the Russian market exceeds 20%.

On 1 July 2011, “EVRAZ United West Siberian Metallurgical Plant” JSC ("EVRAZ ZSMK") was established by uniting "Novokuznetsk Metallurgical Plant" JSC ("NKMK") and "West Siberian Metallurgical Plant” JSC ("ZSMK"). And in April 2016, the Siberia Division of EVRAZ was created: it included EVRAZ ZSMK and Evrazruda. This solution improved the integration of business processes of enterprises, increased the synergy between assets and the efficiency of management.

EVRAZ ZSMK is a multiple winner of the industry competition "Mining and Metallurgical Complex Enterprise of High Social Efficiency" in different nominations: "Personnel Development", "Social and Economic Efficiency of the Collective Agreement", "Work with Youth", and "Labour Conditions and Safety".

Personnel development is one of the priority activities at EVRAZ ZSMK. A multi-level system for working with people, improving the engineering competencies of employees, and interacting with educational institutions has been developed at the enterprise. Students of basic technical schools and the Siberian State Industrial University take paid internships at EVRAZ ZSMK and find employment at the enterprise. Special attention is paid to young professionals. They participate in scientific and technical conferences, professional skills competitions, as well as in all-Russian competitions. For example, at the national WorldSkills Hi-Tech Championship, participants from EVRAZ ZSMK annually win gold, silver and bronze awards. A whole range of development activities is being implemented for the managers and reserve managers of EVRAZ ZSMK, such as internships both within the company and at related enterprises, professional training and retraining programs, the School of Chief Specialists, the School of Masters and Senior Masters, and large-scale training programs: "New leaders of EVRAZ", "TOP-300", and "TOP-1000". They provide managers and specialists with the knowledge needed in production.

EVRAZ ZSMK products have been repeatedly awarded the “100 Best Goods of Russia” label.

EVRAZ ZSMK is constantly working to improve the environmental component of production. Over five years (since 2015), 2.8 billion rubles was invested in improving the ecology of Novokuznetsk. The implementation of environmental projects allows the company to progressively reduce emissions into the atmosphere and discharges of pollutants into water bodies. The plant continues to implement environmental programs and gradually reduce the technogenic load on the environment.

Abandonment of outdated technologies, modernization, progressive work on product quality, and development of a unique product range have made EVRAZ ZSMK one of the world leaders in modern metallurgy in terms of key indicators. Work on a new formulation of the business system and new approaches to management have substantially increased the efficiency of both the departments as a whole and each individual employee at their workplace.
