The history of "Avexima Siberia" LLC began with the evacuation of the Moscow Chemical Pharmaceutical Plant named after Semashko in the 1940s (the war years). On 12 February 1942, by order of the Glavkhimprom of the USSR People's Commissariat for Health, the enterprise was put into operation. The production of drugs for the front was organized: white streptocide, sulfidine, and adonilene (anti-inflammatory and antipyretic drugs). For those times, drugs of a new generation were produced - norsulfazol, amidopyrine, and phenacetin.

In the post-war years, the plant developed as a manufacturer of substances. New production buildings were constructed to accommodate technological lines. At the same time, the educational base was developed; in 1954, a chemical technology technical school was opened on the basis of the plant, relations were established with scientific organizations - developers of new technologies and new medicines. In the same period, a central factory laboratory was organized.

In the 1960s, with the organization of the production of sulfanilamide preparations, the product range expanded to include sulfadimezin, sodium sulfacyl, and sulfadimethoxine. The plant became one of the largest chemical and pharmaceutical enterprises in the country. The drugs produced were exhibited at the national level several times.  Theobromine received an award in the exhibition "Technology-68"; at the USSR Exhibition of Economic Achievements, sulfadimethoxine received two bronze medals, sulfamonomethoxine won a silver and two bronze medals, and salazodimethoxin won a gold and a bronze medal. The production of benzonal, an antiepileptic drug, was organized.

By the late 1980s, the plant was simultaneously producing 16 types of medicinal substances. Its total production capacity was 100,000 tons of substances per year.

In the 1990s, the plant began producing 40 types of tablets.

The company has a 75-year experience of producing finished dosage forms and substances. In 2017, the plant was renamed as "Avexima Siberia" LLC.

"Avexima Siberia" LLC manufactures more than 30 types of medicinal products (infusion solutions, injection solutions, tablets, suppositories, powders, capsules, ointments, and gels), as well as active pharmaceutical substances both for its own production of medicinal products and for sale. The product range includes a significant number of medicines from the list of vital and essential medicines.

Its main tasks include: developing and producing medicines for the purpose of increasing the availability and providing the population with effective, safe and high-quality medicines produced in accordance with the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), increasing the competitiveness of the enterprise and obtaining sustainable profits for the further development of production.

The company focuses on the quality of its products. Product quality is confirmed by certificates:

• 2012: international standard ISO 9001-2008; IQNet certification of the development, production and sale of solid and liquid medicines and active pharmaceutical ingredients; GOST R 52249-2009 "Rules for the production and quality control of medicines".


• 2013: annually the quality management system is certified by the "Russian Register" certification association for compliance with the requirements of the GOST ISO 9001-2011.


• 2016: statement of compliance with the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practice (the manufacturer of medicines for medical use).


• 2021: statement of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation on compliance with the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practice GMP-0096-000612 / 21 and confirmation of compliance with GOST R ISO 9001-2015.

The conceptual development plan for 2021-2025 provides for:

• Revival and development of the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients for the purposes of production and sale.


• Expansion of the range of manufactured finished medicines: tablets, capsules, powders, suppositories, solutions, ointments, and gels.


• Launch of the production of solutions in ampoules.


• Technical re-equipment of other production sites.

The strategic directions for the development of new technologies and dosage forms are gynecology, urology, gastroenterology, cardiology and therapy.
