Valuable minerals mining

The development of the mineral mining industry is directly linked to the development of Siberia and the period of industrialization. The 20th century was characterized by the growth of coal and metallurgical industries enterprises and the large-scale construction of enterprises, cities, and infrastructure facilities. The widespread minerals were required for the production of construction materials, and therefore they were mined along with the extraction of coal and iron ore.

At present, the activities of the enterprises engaged in the extraction of widespread minerals are aimed at providing the industrial complex of the region with raw construction materials. Basically, such minerals as building stone, sand and gravel mixture, building sand and brick clays are mined. The extracted minerals are used in the construction and road-building industries both in Kuzbass and in neighboring regions.

As of 1 January 2021, 113 mineral mining licenses on the territory of Kemerovo Region - Kuzbass are owned by 85 private organizations. The development of this sphere will increase the competitiveness of the region and result in the growth of the residents’ well-being.
